Admissions to Primary School 2024 - Information Webinars

Primary Admissions

Children that attend the school nursery do not automatically transfer to the main school. Each child has to apply to the council for a place. Applications usually start in the October prior to the year your child is due to start and have a closing date of January. You then receive your offer usually in April. You are able to apply on-line or by post.

If you apply on-line you immediately receive an email confirmation that your application has been received and when you are offered a school you will receive this by email also. This means that you often find out a lot quicker.

Admission criteria

Although you apply directly to the council for a place at Kenningtons the school Governors are then sent a list of the applications and rank the applications.

Admissions Appeals

If you would like to appeal an admission decision for academic year 2024 / 2025 please contact Essex County Council no later than June 2024.
